Springfield's Favorite Family Arrives in Psyonix's Hit Game: But It's Not the Car Fans Are Dreaming Of
We already knew that The Simpsons was teaming up with Fortnite, but this isn't the sole destination where fans can experience the universe of Springfield. The long-running series is also making its way to Rocket League, introducing an in-game car skin that will also be compatible in the Fortnite universe. That said, whether players will truly desire to use it is a different matter, as there's only one Simpsons vehicle the community is itching to get behind the wheel of, and this isn't it.
What Fans Really Want
While many gamers would undoubtedly love to compete behind the wheel of Homer's custom creation—the notoriously impractical car Homer built himself in the 1991 installment "Oh Brother, Where Art Thou?"—regrettably, that isn't what players are receiving. We aren't even getting the massive SUV, the enormous vehicle featured in season 10. Rather, fans are getting the Simpsons' everyday beat-up sedan, which they've been driving since the show's early days. Even though this particular car has accumulated plenty of miles, it remains an recognizable element of the series. For those who analyze Rocket League vehicle dimensions, the Simpson family car uses the same hitbox as the Dominus.

Additional Themed Cosmetics
But that's not the only customization item from the series arriving in Rocket League. The event will additionally feature a series of challenges to earn more rewards, all of which are inspired by the show. As detailed in a official announcement, the missions will require players to "achieve a certain number of centers and clears as there are the show's seasons, gather boost canisters as if your navigation is set to The Simpsons’ residence, and drive a distance sufficient for acquiring the ideal pastries!"
While the complete list of challenge rewards hasn't been disclosed, here is what has been confirmed up to this point:
- Blinky topper
- Homer's hedge-themed banner
- Waste wheels
- 20,000 experience points for each challenge
Based on promotional images is a reliable guide, it appears fans will also get rims featuring a television showing The Simpsons' title sequence, alien antenna toppers, a frosted doughnut trail, and rocket boosts themed to smoldering rubber and Krusty Burger.
